Joint & Skin Health
Structural protein for joints, skin elasticity, and connective tissue
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body (30% of total protein), forming the scaffolding of skin, bones, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. Collagen peptide supplements (hydrolysed collagen) provide amino acids — particularly hydroxyproline — that stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen. Evidence is accumulating for joint health, skin elasticity, and bone density.
Hydrolysed collagen peptides (Type I & III for skin/nails; Type II for joints); UC-II (undenatured Type II collagen) for joint-specific benefits at very low doses
10–15 g hydrolysed collagen/day (skin & general); 40 mg UC-II/day (joints)
Safe for most people. Derived from animal sources (bovine, marine, porcine) — not suitable for vegans. May cause mild GI discomfort. Marine collagen preferred by many for taste and sustainability.
