Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, pyridoxal-5-phosphate) is a water-soluble vitamin acting as a coenzyme in over 140 enzymatic reactions. It is essential for serotonin, dopamine, GABA, and norepinephrine synthesis; homocysteine metabolism; and immune function. The active form PLP (pyridoxal-5-phosphate) is what the body actually uses; some individuals convert poorly from standard pyridoxine.

Key Benefits

  • PMS symptom relief
  • Morning sickness (pregnancy nausea)
  • Mood & depression support
  • Immune function
  • Homocysteine reduction
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

Best Form

P-5-P (pyridoxal-5-phosphate) — active form; superior for poor converters

Dosage

25–100 mg/day

⚠ Safety Notes

CRITICAL: Doses above 200 mg/day long-term can cause peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage). This is a rare but real toxicity — do not exceed recommended doses. Use P-5-P to allow lower effective doses.
